Part of both Christian County and Shelby County, Moweaqua is a small village with a population of 1,700. It is located 16 miles south of Decatur and 40 miles east of Springfield. The downtown area is found at the Main Street Intersection (both North and South, East and West) and includes the Moweaqua Coal Mine Museum.
